From Europe to Southeast Asia, Jiate Metal's globalization layout is accelerating

Against the backdrop of intensified global competition, Zhangjiagang Free Trade Zone Jiate Metal Products Co., Ltd. has gradually built a trade network across Europe and Asia with its technological advantages and flexible strategies. Since entering the European market through CE certification in 2017, the company has successively reached long-term cooperation with Spanish auto parts giant Gestamp and Italian home appliance brand Indesit, and its exports to Europe exceeded 200 million yuan in 2023.

In recent years, Jiate Metal has set its sights on the Southeast Asian market. After setting up an office in Vietnam in 2018, it took advantage of the local labor cost advantage to supply precision metal parts to companies such as Samsung and LG. In 2022, the company further established a storage center in Thailand to radiate the markets of ten ASEAN countries. Data shows that in 2023, Jiate Metal's Southeast Asian business revenue increased by 48% year-on-year, accounting for 18% of total sales.

"Globalization is not only market expansion, but also the output of technical standards." Wang Tao, director of international business of Jiate Metal, pointed out. Through the rigorous certification experience of the European market, the company reversely optimizes domestic production lines to form a synergistic effect of "internal and external dual circulation". For example, the corrosion-resistant alloy materials it developed have passed the EU REACH environmental certification and have been adopted by domestic new energy companies.

Industry experts believe that Chinese metal product companies are shifting from "low-price exports" to a "technology + service" model. The case of Jiate Metal shows that relying on the policy dividends of bonded areas (such as tariff reductions and cross-border settlement convenience) combined with localized operation strategies, small and medium-sized enterprises can also occupy a place in international competition.
